What can be infertility in women

Every woman dreams of becoming a mother and taking her newborn baby in her arms. But unfortunately, the modern rhythm of life, the state of the environment and the quality of products have a very strong effect on the health of the world’s population. And more and more often one has to deal with such a concept as infertility in women , and a young age and a healthy lifestyle cannot guarantee the absence of problems with reproductive function in a girl in the future.

Infertility classification

If, within 1.5-2 years of regular sexual activity, a woman fails to become pregnant, and the desire to have a child is present, doctors diagnose her as infertility. Fortunately, in the modern world this is not a sentence – the main thing is to identify the causes of female infertility and undergo a qualified course of treatment.

Specialists identify several types of infertility in women

  • Absolute
  • Relative
  • Primary
  • Secondary

Let’s consider each type in detail.

The most deplorable scenario is absolute sterility. In this case, conception is in principle impossible, since there are no or insufficiently developed organs intended for conceiving and bearing a child (for example, the absence of a uterus or adjacent reproductive organs).

Relative infertility in women is diagnosed when there is no opportunity to become pregnant at the moment. But everything can be corrected with a certain surgical intervention or drug therapy.

Primary infertility is considered if there is no pregnancy in the anamnesis. It is called secondary if a woman already has children or has already had a pregnancy, but did not end with a successful childbirth.

Causes of infertility in women

The reasons leading to absolute infertility are congenital pathologies in development or acquired abnormalities during puberty. Similar reasons can be in the case of relative infertility in women , but in this situation, the problem can be dealt with if treatment is started on time.

Reproductive function is influenced by inflammatory and infectious diseases, especially sexually transmitted diseases. For the formation of a healthy egg and the further development of the embryo, the correct balance of hormones in the body is very important, which must also be taken into account.

Secondary infertility in women can develop due to several factors that should be considered in detail:

a) decreased fertility. When planning your next child, you should know that after the age of 35, the chance of getting pregnant is much lower;

b) disorders in the thyroid gland. This organ greatly affects the balance of hormones in the body, so if you cannot get pregnant, first of all you need to check if everything is in order with the endocrine system;

c) diseases of the pelvic organs. It is very important to keep the condition of the genital area under control and to visit the gynecologist on time. Indeed, sometimes banal inflammations not cured in time become the main cause of infertility;

d) artificial termination of pregnancy. It is worth thinking about the consequences when the thought comes to mind that now is “not the time” and an abortion is needed, because such rash decisions are fraught with very dire consequences;

e) the consequences of childbirth. This is possible if the cervix or the uterus itself was damaged, since the baby was very large or had an incorrect position during childbirth.

Whatever the reason for infertility, in no case should you despair and give up. After all, modern technology can help in the treatment of this ailment. And sometimes it is enough to just slow down the rhythm of life a little, change your habits a little, and everything will work out for you.
