Your ovulation calendar

The release of a mature egg to be fertilized from the dominant follicle is called ovulation. For a woman who would like to have a child and has encountered difficulties along the way, ovulation is the surest answer to the question: are there days on which the conception of a baby will be guaranteed?

You will be helped by drawing up an ovulation calendar. Of course, for each woman it is individual, but there are general principles for building and maintaining such a calendar.

To create a personal ovulation calendar, you need to measure basal temperature for three to four months, always using the same thermometer. In the morning, as soon as you are fully awake, do not get out of bed. For 3-5 minutes, measure the temperature in the rectum.

Every day, getting data, build a graph. Now you can find out on what day ovulation occurs and how many days the luteal phase lasts. The parameters are as follows:

– in the first phase of the cycle, the temperature is 36.4 – 36.7 ° С;

– the day before ovulation, the temperature will drop by one to two tenths of a degree, and then rise by half a degree to 37.2 ° C, possibly higher;

– at this figure, the temperature is kept until the onset of menstruation – for 12-14 days.

So, the best period for conception is 3-4 days before the expected ovulation and 2-3 days after it.

Modern technologies offer ultrasonic monitoring of ovulation. But it is more expedient to use this method when problems already arise: the need to stimulate ovulation, infertility or miscarriage .

Home ovulation tests are also recommended. Their action is based on determining how much luteinizing hormone is in the urine. The percentage of this hormone increases significantly 24 to 36 hours before ovulation. Every morning and evening starting on day 11 of your cycle (if you have a 28-day cycle), use this test to determine the day of ovulation.

If you apply all these methods in combination, the likelihood of a successful conception of a child increases several times!
